First bottle (#44) found!

We just received word today that bottle #44 was just found down near North Ayrshire at 2:19pm on the 13th of May, 2010. Thanks go to Peter McPhee, who found the bottle with his daughter and sent us the details and pictures. According to Peter "... I was well chuffed that I found it. My daughter is convinced its a map to buried treasure"! Its remarkable that just a few hours after he found it, we're able to blog about it.

Another point of interest is that the message: "there are no complex ideas, only simple ideas in series" comes from a message sent to the Govan Beacon that we included in a bottle decorated by one of the kids from Riverside Community Centre. The child didn't leave a message of his or her own - but instead a drawing [ perhaps a treasure map?! - we'll follow up with those details in a later post]. The message should have read"There are no complex ideas only long series of simple ideas. Hollis Frampton" and the message was originally sent to the Beacon on Wed, 28 Apr 2010 21:38:36 GMT, at least according to the time-stamp!

So now that the reports are beginning to (hopefully) roll in - plot their recovery on our new googlemap.
